Contractor for Key Facilities
Dollywood Big Bear Mountain
Recreational · Southeast US
Completion: 2023
Appalachian Construction & Design served as the contractor for several key facilities supporting Dollywood’s Big Bear Mountain, the park’s longest roller coaster at 3,990 feet. Working from the architect’s plans, our team built the queue area, loading station, back-of-house spaces, maintenance building, waterfall and pump house, and a new food service facility.
The work required close coordination with Dollywood, Herschend Family Entertainment, Vekoma, and the project’s design team to ensure each facility fit seamlessly into one of the park’s signature attractions.

PRESERVATION & CONSTRUCTION
Jesse Baker Cabin
Historical Reconstruction · East Tennessee
Appalachian Construction & Design helped preserve an important part of Carson-Newman’s history by reconstructing the university’s historic cabin. After the structure was carefully relocated and dismantled in 2020, each log and structural component was cataloged and stored until work began in the spring of 2024.
Our team rebuilt the cabin using its original materials, preserving its historic character while strengthening it for the future. Now permanently displayed beside the Fite Administration Building, the restored cabin serves as a lasting connection to the university’s heritage.
